P.I.G.S.

Cut and paste, cut and paste. That's what I worked on today for the exhibit - cutting out titling, mounting and pasting. I like cutting and pasting but I'm starting to not be fond of the letter "e" and cutting out that little piece!

I decided to give myself a little break tonight and finish hand piecing my tumbling block quilt. Here are several choices for the borders. The sides will be one fabric and the top and bottom will be the other.

I don't think the camera is doing a very good job with the colors. The dark brown right side fabric in the lower picture is a little washed out.

Tell me what you think, would you use the dark brown or lighter brown? The top dark brown or the lower or none of the above?!?

I'm afraid that if I don't make up my mind soon it will join my other P.I.G.S. and may not see the light of day for months, years even! Only kidding, nothing resembling pork resides in my sewing room. Dust bunnies, yes I've got those but no pork. P.I.G.S. is cute way of saying Projects In Grocery Sacks and I've got more than a few of those!

So help me keep my sewing room grocery sack free and tell me which border fabric you'd choose!

I think I like the light brown the best.

Looking at the values, the dark brown on the bottom is a stand-out. It makes some of the tumbling blocks just pop. (Sorry to have a contrary opinion than the previous commenter. I'm sure I'm making your decision even more difficult.)

I think you need two borders. A lighter one, like the yellow with brown dots and then a darker one like, either the top or left side in the photo above. I'd put the same fabric on all four sides. :) Your blocks are beautiful!

Love this! I like the lighter. The one on the left or on the top. :)

I agree with Linda. The darker fabric on the bottom frames your blocks beautifully and really brings out the lighter colours. It pushes the eye into the central area.

I think that I would use the darker bottom fabric.
The darker frame does make your blocks- POP - and the top fabric blends in too much.
Ths side borders are nice.

It's a scrappy quilt, unless you have a need to match top bottom, why not use all four fabrics, one on each side? Otherwise, I do like the darker ones to make the middle pop!

I like the dark fabric at the bottom and the lighter fabric on the left. I agree with Sue...two borders.

I like the two darker borders, they seem to show off the blocks better.
