Here's the problem: The string quilt blocks have a muslin foundation which makes the border of single layer fabric very flimsy compared to them. I think I know the answer to this but would you "line" the border with a layer of muslin to make it drape and wear better? Obviously if I don't, the weight of the body of the quilt will be very different from the border.
I'm concerned that I may get a wrinkle in the muslin or border and it won't lay flat. Also, I just want to finish this quilt not spend more time on it! On the other hand, I don't want to look at it later and wish I'd added muslin behind the border.
There aren't many of you out there reading this blog but those who do, would you please leave me a comment and tell me what you think I should do? Thanks!
